Privacy policy

What we collect

When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture.

We also store what you enter yourself: your house's name and details (e.g. floor area, heating source), the costs you log (amount, date, category, note), and optionally household members and pets.

How we use it

To show your own stats and charts, and to compute anonymized, aggregated comparisons against other houses - we never show another user another specific house's data.

We don't sell or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Where it's stored

Data is stored in a PostgreSQL database (provider: Neon). Sign-in goes through Google (OAuth) - we never store or see your Google account password.

Emails

On the last day of each month we email you a summary of your houses' costs (the month's spending, unpaid payments, a reminder about missing bills). Emails are sent through Resend, which processes your email address and the message content only to deliver it.

If you turn them on in notification settings, we also send a reminder the day before a scheduled payment is due (the payment's name, amount and due date). Reminders are off by default.

You can turn off each kind of email at any time in notification settings, or with one click via the "Unsubscribe" link in the email footer.

Cookies and localStorage

We use a single session cookie needed to keep you signed in. In your browser's localStorage we store your light/dark theme preference and your analytics-consent choice.

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the app is used (pages visited, country, device type, and coarse events such as sign-up). We use Google Consent Mode: until you accept in the banner, no analytics cookies or identifiers are set and Google receives only anonymous, cookieless signals. Only after you accept does Google set its own cookies and collect full statistics; rejecting keeps the cookieless state. You can withdraw consent by clearing this site's data in your browser.

Your rights

You can delete a single house and all its associated data yourself, at any time, under Settings → Danger zone.

You can also permanently delete your entire account under Settings → Danger zone → Delete account. This removes your profile (name, email address, picture), every house you created along with its logged costs, household members and pets, and your access to houses that others shared with you. It takes effect immediately and cannot be undone - we keep no backups of deleted accounts.
